A
great love for guitars and an idealistic vision to produce high
quality Indonesian instruments suitable for professional performance
is the foundation of Marlique Guitars Indonesia. In the past instruments
made in Indonesia have not been trusted even by local players. The
new guitars produced by Marlique have already begun to turn heads
and show that one Indonesian guitar manufacture is capable of creating
professional quality guitars through creative vision and great craftsmanship.
Marlique Guitars have impressed many local professionals and are
on the way to making a name throughout the world.
SLANK have been a leading blues rock band in Indonesia for over
20 years. Guitarist Ridho Hafiedz joined Slank in 1997 after returning
from Musician’s Institute in Hollywood and strongly believes
in the Marlique vision. Ridho believes that nothing is impossible
and that if something is built with heart, it will be something
special. Marlique has joined forces with Ridho Hafiedz with the
aim of producing great guitars suited to professional players.
Years of hard work, countless hours of planning and the production
of hundreds of prototypes have resulted in a range of quality guitars
suitable for professional musicians. Marlique guitars are loaded
with TESLA Plasma III “Special” pickups. This pickup
has been exclusively designed for Marlique Guitars. The tone is
modern, heavy and powerful with clear response across all frequencies.

WOOD BODY
Marlique’s bodies made of 2 or 3 solid pieces of nyatoh,
kiln dried and glued together. This construction minimizes warping
without sacrificing the tone. Curly maples are applied as the top
with special treatment to pop up the beauty of the wood. Some series
are custom hand painted. Polyurethane is used as the standard finishing
material.
Body thickness is 45 mm, with balanced design, feel good on your
shoulder. Overall weight is 4 to 4.5 kgs.

NECK
All Marlique’s necks are made of 3 pieces of nyatoh or maple
glued together to make a strong and stable neck. Wood grains are
aligned each other to ensure the stability. These three pieces neck
blanks stored for at least 1 month. The three pieces construction
and 1 month storage is the key of Marlique’s necks stability.
On Standard and Deluxe models, necks are joint to the body with
glue (set neck). This construction improve sustain and better access
to the high frets. On Ridho Hafiedz Signature Series, necks are
joint with bolts for easy repair.
Fretboards are made of sonokeling (Indian rosewood). 12’
radius for Standard and Deluxe models, and 14” radius for
Signature Series. Neck width is 1 11/16 “ on the nut and 2
3/16 “ on the 22nd fret. Neck thickness is 20.5 mm on the
1st fret and 22.5 mm on the 12th fret for Standard and Deluxe models,
21.5 mm on the 1st fret and 22.5 mm on the 12th fret for Ridho Hafiedz
Signature Series.
All the models using Medium fret wires, 22 frets each neck. 25.5
inch scale length. Headstock angled at 12 degrees.
Double action truss rod is used on the current production.

HARDWARE
Marlique use floating tremolo with 2 pivot point as a standard
option, set down and up 1 note (E to F#) on the 6th string, no more
no less. Some series use Licensed Floyd Rose tremolos.
Standard Series use SAMSHIN 402 H humbucker pickup with Ceramic
Magnets. Deluxe and Ridho Hafiedz Signature Series use PLASMA III
pickup from TESLA specially designed for Marlique with bar type
ALNICO 5 magnets and Polyurethane coil.

ELECTRONICS
All the models equipped with 1 volume, 1 tone and 1 three way
toggle switch. Push pull pots added in Deluxe and Ridho Hafiedz
Signature Series for coil splitting.
QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control starts from the arrival of the wood blanks and
continues throughout the production process. Final check is conducted
by Ridho Hafiedz. Finishing, intonation and playability are the
major aspects to be inspected.
