I was a little dubious at first but the little I read on the web about these guitars was all good so I thought I would take a chance as it looked so beautiful. I own all vintage Fender and Gibson guitars with a few others like a Godin LG. After receiving the guitar I restrung it and set the action and intonation. At first I was a bit disappointed as it went out of tune rapidly even though I stretched the strings. I put it away until the next day. When I got it out of the case I was blown away.....perfectly in tune and played like a dream. I guess it needed some time for the tremolo springs and neck to settle down. Anyway now it hold tune beautifully. It has a very commanding voice and the pickups are hot enough to drive a clean amp but not too hot that they lose tone. It sounds a bit like a vintage Les Paul when in humbucker mode through a driven Marshall. When clean it sounds a bit like a 60's SG I used to own.....ballsy but sweet. When you split the coils do not expect it to sound like a Strat. The mahogany body and set neck make it sound like a Rickenbacker although not as sharp and biting. All in all I like the tone of this guitar. It has it's own voice and not much like a PRS that it seems to be modelled after. You can cover a lot of bases with this guitar. It can grind with the best of them, it can sing with a lot of drive applied to the amp. It has the complexity in the tone that you only expect from vintage high end guitars. I know this will only get better as the guitar "matures". It fits the body like a glove and is surprisingly light for a mahogany bodied axe. Only criticisms are I wish it had a little bit more bass and came with a larger case to fit a bit more gear in. I think this guitar represents exceptional value at the price I paid.
